My multi-genre project topic was about dogs. I chose to write about this topic because I love dogs and they have always been sort of mysterious to me. As soon as I started to research them I got so interested and always wanted to know more about them. I thought they were the most fun things to research.

My report was an example of my best pieces of writing because it explained a lot of the basics about dogs and included a lot of information. It talked about their senses and compared there differences from humans, it also included numbers to compare them to humans. Other things it explained were there jobs and how long they have been known for that job, like how Siberian Huskies have been used to herd reindeer for about three-thousand years. It talks about just their basics for you to just get to know what they are and stuff.
My power-point was an example of my best pieces of writing because it explained the history of dogs. It explained what they have been known for, how they got their name, where they were first from and sometimes when they were first discovered. It covered the history of most of the most known dogs so that people know the history of the dogs they are probably familiar.It explains their background and used pictures to show detail.
My persuasive essay was an example of my best pieces of writing because it explains all the reasons why golden retrievers are really great dogs and why you should buy one. It tells the talents, their good looks, and their actions and how easily they are to take care of. It covered all of the basics about them and even more.They are all my examples of my best writing because they include all sorts’ information on dogs. They include jobs, feeding habits, and other basics on dogs. They also included the different breeds and colors. They explained with good detail and pictures. Friday night I got off the bus and I had a snack and said good bye to my dad because he was going to the semifinals hockey games. My sisters friends Kaylyn and Evie came over because their parents were gone and we babysat them. We had chicken nuggets and corn for dinner and a little bit of candy for dessert. After a long and tiring week I was very tired so i went to bed right after Kaylyn and Evie left. Saturday morinig my sister and I stayed home alone for a few hours while my parents were at a 5 kilometer~3 mile 100% Irish for a day run. When they got home we found out that we were going to Ireland for spring break. My sister and I screamed because we were sooo excited. My mom and I had lunch soon afterwards and then went to the mall to go shopping. When we got back it was almost time for dinner because we went to a lot of places to shop. My dad and I got ready and went off to Cassetto's italian restaurant before the MSHSL (Minnesota State High School League) championship game. Edina won, I was really excited. Sunday morning I woke up, had pancakes and headed off to curch. After church my mom and I went to Target and on a walk. It was very relaxing. Afterwards we got ready for my grandpa to come over for dinner. We had stuffed pork chops, peas, potatoes, bread and milk. After my grandpa left we got our bags ready and went to bed.
Friday night I did homework until dinner. For dinner my parents and I had butter noodles, milk, and pizza. After dinner I did a little more homework. Then, my dad and I played band hero until it was time for me to go to bed. Then I woke up at 7:00 for my ski program and then i went to the bus stop. soon after i go t there we had lunch and i found my dad. (he was there because it was family fun day) For lunch I ate with my dad and my cousin Caroline. I had a hot dog, lays original chips, chocolate chip cookies, and Dr. Pepper. After lunch we went down to the secret path you go down and you go real fast down the hill. My dad snowboards and my cousin and I ski. Then we went down the terrain park a couple times. After that we went on the wall which is a really steep hill at Wild Mountain. it is a double black diamond. when we stopped skiing we only stopped to have a snack and rest for a little bit. After we went back out we just went on a bunch of random hills until our last run I went on the wall but Caroline and my dad didn't. I got to skate on my skis about 1/4 of a mile. It was really fun. When we got back I went to Caroline's house and we had a sleepover. For dinner we had lasagna, Fro desssert we had awesome sundaes with chocolate and caramel syrup, the candy of nerds, twix, snickers, crunch bar and butter fingers. It was sooooo good. Soon we went to bed. We watched saturday night live for a while though, then we went to sleep. In the morning we got up and had breakfast. After btreakfast we cleaned up our sleeping area. once we were finished we went out side and went snow mobiling in the yards. It was sooo fun. There was the driver and a sled attached to the snowmobile with someone riding. I got to do a lot of both. Soon my mom came and I had to go home. When I got home I did some more home work until my friend came over. We went on a walk, playedoutside, played band hero, and ate llunch. After they left I finished most of my home work. When I finished my family and I went on a walk. When we got back I took a shower and then had dinner. After dinner I practiced violin, read and went to sleep.
Dogs come in many different shapes, sizes, and styles. Some are big and some are small. Some are fat and some are not. There are so many different kinds that it would take, minutes, hours, maybe even days to name them all.
Dogs love to play. They love to play with other dogs, their owners, and even with themselves. Dogs will do anything with you. They will swim with you, they will play fetch with you, they will hunt with you, and they will even eat with you.
Dogs also need care. They need something to eat and they also need water. You should also take it to the vet once in a while to make sure it is healthy. Your dog also needs exercise. Exercise important because if a dog doesn’t exercise it could get really sick, and the ingredients in its food (calories, fat, others) may not be good for the dog and the dog wouldn’t be able to burn them off. The side effects could be bad.
Did you know dogs have jobs just like humans? Some dogs are originally bred to retrieve fishing nets out of water areas, these dogs are Labrador retrievers. Lassa Apsos are used as guard dogs in temples. And Siberian huskies have been used to herd reindeer for about three-thousand years.
Dogs have five senses just like humans. They are sight, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. A dog’s sense of taste and smell are closely linked and it is possible that dogs gain more information in its food from its smell rather than from its taste. They can detect bitter, sweet, salty, and sour tastes. Their taste is relatively poor and they have only one-sixth of the number of taste buds that humans have.
Dogs can hear 4 times better than humans can. They can detect sounds in six- hundredths of a second.
Moisture on the surface of a dog’s nose helps to dissolve molecules in the air. The olfactory center is 40 times larger than of a human, a dog’s sense of smell is 1,000,000 times more efficient.
Dogs’ eyes are more sensitive to movement and light than humans eyes are, but they cannot distinguish colors or outlines of objects as well.
Did you know that above all other domesticated animals; dogs show humankind a spirit of unconditional love and loyalty? They have been man’s believing and companions throughout known and recorded history. A dog can truly be called “A Man’s Best Friend”.
The ancient Greek hero Odysseus went to war while his dog, Argus, was still a puppy. The dog grew and serve other men until he was old, neglected, and cast out to sleep on dunghill. When Odysseus finally came home, this is where he found his beloved dog, Argus. The dog was too feeble to move. Wagged his tail—and died of joy. He had waited twenty years, and saw his master again at last.

Friday night I got off the bus and did my homework until my friend picked me up to have a sleepover.At her house we watched a movie, had pizza dinner, made lunches for skijammers, and had cereal for breakfst. Then, her mom drove us to the bus stop where buses that take us to the place that we're going to ski at. This week we went to Wild Mountain. When I got home I had dinner, read for twenty minuetes, and wetn to sleep because I was really tired after getting up at 7:00 am and skiing all day. Sunday morning I had cinomin bred and cinomin toast crunch for breakfast. When I was finished with breakfast I went on the computer for a while. When I was finished I did some more of my homework. When I stopped played rock band with my dad for a while. When we stopped we had lunch. When I was finished with lunch I did almost the rest of my home work. When I stopped I played a game on the computer. I watched TV when I was finished. When I stopped watching TV I went to my nieghbors across the street to play outside. When we setopped we all came back to my house and had hot cocoa and played rock band. after they left I finished my homework and ate dinner. For dinner I had steak, baked potatoes, and salty asparugus. after dinner I read, showered and went to bed.
Friday night I went to my cousins house to celebrate my uncle's birthday. We played rock band and we played house with Ryan (3 yrs. old). We had rigatoni, bread, and salad for dinner. After we left I got home and went to bed. Saturday morning I got up at 8:00 for skijammers but then we got a call saying it was canceled because of the weather. So instead of staying home and doing nothing I went to my dad's last pond hockey game. His team lost 13 to 8. When the game was over my dad and I went to my cousins' house for lunch and time to play. When my dad and I got home we hung out and relaxed until a friend and I went to the JV and Varsity Minnetonka vs. Edina hockey game. Edina lost seven to one. When I got home i watched television and went to sleep. Sunday morning I got up at 10:00. I had chocolate chip pancakes and hard boiled eggs with orange juice. After breakfast I went to the 11:30 mass at church. When my family and I got home we video chatted with our friends that live in Amsterdam, Holland, Netherlands, Europe. It was 1:00 here and 8:00 there. When we finished the call I did some homework. When I was finished I had lunch. That was at about 3:30. After lunch I played Band Hero and watched television. Then I played on the computer and did some more homework. When I finished most of my homework I had dinner. After dinner I completely finished my homework, had desert, read and went to bed.
On Friday night I had a friend over. We watched a movie and ate really good pepperoni pizza. Saturday morning I woke up at 7:00 to go to ski jammers. We went to Powder Ridge Winter Area. When I got home it was about 5:30. I had a quesadilla from Chipotle. After dinner I went down to the pond next to my house. A bunch of the people in my neighborhood came down and we had a big hockey game. I scored two goals for my team. When I got home I had hot cocoa and went to bed. Sunday morning I had chocolate chip pancakes and scrambled eggs and orange juice. After breakfast I went to Hoigaards to get a new jacket for next year. When I got back I watched the Incredibles and had butter noodles for lunch. After lunch I did some homework. Then I went skating for a while at the pond. When I came back I went to the hotel my grandparents stayed at. At the hotel we went swimming and ate chips and guacamole. They stayed at the Embassy Suites. When we got back I had a friend over and we had pizza and grapes for dinner. After dinner we played The Game of Life. When the game was over her and I watch two television shows. When the episodes were finished we played on my Wii. Teh game on Wii we played was Band Hero which is practically Rock Band but it has pop songs instead of rock songs. Then we played Wii Sports Resort, we played wakeboarding and basketball. When we stoped we made our bed. When it was finiched and comfy we talked and then we fell asleep at about 11:30. Monday morning we had chocolate chip pancakes and orange juice for breakfast. After breakfast we cleaned up and then I had to take her home. When I got home I went to the Cheese Cake Factory for lunch with my grandparents.I got to mini hamburgers with lettuce, onions, ketchup, and mustard on it. When we were finished we went shopping for about fourty-five minutes. When we were done shopping we went to the movie "The Spy Next Door". It was a GREAT movie. After the movie my grandparents for some snacks before they left back to Iowa. After they left I did almost the rest of my homework. When I stopped I helped with dinner work and had a chicken sandwich with milk, grapes, and edamame for dinner. After dinner I finished my homework and showered. I read a book and got ready for bed. I got into bed at about 8:00. It was a great weekend.
